 Answer either: - Try to identify, in the first two pages, the main thesis of the essay, and explain Turner's methodology in setting out the arguments that support it (blending history, socio-economic factors, politics, and geography). - Sum up, in pp. 259-261, how the frontiersman evolved and how the development of his living conditions came to influence, according to the author, the national character of "productive individualism" (p. 261)
